Barely 24 hours later, I'm STILL gushing about my dinner at Fleming's. Oh so good. Oh so delicious. Oh so wonderful. If this isn't love, I don't know what is!! First things first: ah-maze-ing service. I'm struggling right now to remember when I've had such great service and honestly, I don't know if anywhere I've been (that's comparable to Fleming's in terms of price & atmosphere) can top the service at Fleming's! Complimentary valet, coat check at the door, and our server, Courtney... just such great service! Anyway, enough gushing abt the service cause I gotta save some of that gush for the food! My friend and I both got the lite filet mignon (6 oz) and we each subbed the Fleming's potatoes with chipotle mac&cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. My friend went with medium well and our server suggested getting it butterflied -- something that really stuck out to me because I remember going to another steakhouse where it would've been best that my steak be butterflied and the server didn't tell me this until I had to send the steak back. The servers at Fleming's got your back, Jack! A short wait later came our steaks: delicious, divine, don't-think-it-can-really-get-much-better-than-this. My steak came out just as I wanted it -- medium and perfectly pink in the middle! In between bites, we gushed about our steaks: how good the quality of the meat, how it was perfectly seasoned, and how both the sides perfectly complemented the steak. While we were enjoying our steaks, our server asked us about the desserts because one of them, the lava cake, needed to be prepared ahead of time so that it would be ready just as we finished our steaks. Not ones to turn down melting chocolate with ice cream (two scoops of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream -- the Texan inside of me was squealing inside!), we opted for the lava cake.... And boy am I glad we did! The cake was just perfect and nothing about the name of the dessert was a misnomer -- the chocolate did come oozing out like lava. The ice cream was served perched on top of something crispy and most likely fried, but dipped in the melty chocolate, I couldn't care less what that crispy deliciousness was. It wasn't too sweet and not TOO terribly rich that we couldn't finish it -- er well, most of it. We did just eat a 6 oz steak! I'm really glad I went to Fleming's and although I don't know when I'll be back again (a combination of the price, other places to try at STL, and time -- NOT at all a reflection on the restaurant itself), at least I'll always have Yelp to remind me of the good memories!

My wife and I have been to this location on several different occasions, and each time was great. First off, I love their bread. I always want to eat three or four loaves worth of this stuff, which tends to have an affect on the rest of my dinner. Either way, the steaks are always good and flavorful, as are the salads and desserts. I don't drink much wine, but I did think it was cool that they bring you an iPad to review the wine list. It seems that many of the upscale restaurants are going that route these days. The decor of the restaurant is very nice as well. If you're looking to treat your wife to a nice dinner/date night, Fleming's would certainly be a great choice.

Dined at a booth in the bar area. Crispy pork belly appetizer was awesome. Burger was good. Fries were the greasiest, soggiest fries that I have ever seen. Service was poor. Empty water. Empty beer. Had much better experience at Brick Tops last night.

My mom and I stopped off here after a show at the Frontenac Landmark Cinema. Having gotten our dose of culture, were were ready for some bargain-priced drinks and apps. We opted to sit at the bar, which was not crowded. In a way, this was expected, as it was a Monday night, but on the other hand, I would have expected more of a turnout, given the heated Cardinals-Brewers matchup--even though the TVs in the bar area were smallish, the decibel level was sure to be lower than at a sports bar. Since I was not here for the game, I could turn my attention to the food and drink specials. For my drink, I went with the Chardonnay, a respectable California pour. My mom ordered the martini. It looked good, and the olives were plentiful, always a plus in my book. For food, I went with the ahi tuna appetizer. My mom ordered the portobello, goat cheese & spinach burger which came with an iceburg wedge and onion rings. The onion rings that I sampled were very good, almost addictive, and the wasabi served with my ahi was definitely spicy--not what I would expect from a chain venue. I was pleased with the quality of food and drink, and the efficiency of the service. Seeing as how this happy hour special is in operation every day of the week, until 7 pm during the day, I will definitely be stopping by again.

Great food and great service. They really work to make your time there special. Will definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Black or white napkins? :: This restaurant accommodates for any needs that you may have. Obviously it is on the expensive end, however if you are looking for an exquisite, romantic, or business related dinner, this is the place. It provides an intimate environment, and the service is top notch. They will match the napkin with your guest's skirt for goodness sakes. Reservations were simple, and doors were held, coats were taken immediately. The food being great is a given. I enjoyed every bit of my meal, and like most nicer places, they offer prix fixe for those who like to sample food.

Top notch service and perfect steaks, top chain restaurant steak ever had. I know most items are a la carte but the sides are easily shared for 2. If looking for a great service experience, nearly perfected food preparation along with a great wine list. This is the spot. Cost is high but i feel as i got more than i paid for.

Wow. I am so glad i brought my customer here tonight. The food was excellent and everyone commented that the steaks were cooked to perfection. The service was excellent!

Consistently Superb! We had a recent dinner here with friends and family and everything was nearly perfect. Server was outstanding, iPad wine list helped us make the right decision for wine and STEAKS were a 10/10. OUTSTANDING. The best Fleming's in the chain. Perfect for friends, family or business. Location is very central and the restaurant itself is warm and upscale. While a jacket is not required, it's a generally dressy crowd. Service is very alert, professional and smart. Filet and strip are both amazing. Sauces add bright flavors and sides are large and loaded with flavor. They have a stellar wine list that is heavy on the top-shelf California Cabs--perfect for steaks. You can bring your own wine for a moderate corkage fee. Tables are not too close together and booths feel somewhat private. For a more causal night, you can sit at a bar booth. I hear they have great happy hour specials. Depending on what you order--you bill can be high, but we've found it WORTH every penny. NOTE: Meals here can take some time, so don't be in a huge hurry AND don't bring children who do not want to sit still for a couple hours. This place caters to a long adult dinner with 3-5 courses, lots of wine and a relaxed meal. SERVICE: A+ STEAKS: A+ Atmosphere: A NOTE: One of the BEST Fleming's in the US NOTE: At or near the top for Steak in St. Louis (Annie Gunns and Ruth's Chris are close. Some friends like Citizen Kane and Sam's too. Our Morton's is good, but our Fleming's is better. )

I probably never would have dined at Flemings, as I try to steer away from chain restaurants, but when some good friends gifted us with a gift card, my husband and I went for our anniversary. They earned their full 5 stars from the very beginning.... I called to make a last minute (same day) dinner reservation, I noticed that they were closed when I called late afternoon, so I was pleasantly surprised when they answered and were not rude or annoyed. The hostess asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and when I spelled my last name for the reservations, she even asked me how to pronounce it. This, by far, was the most delightful reservation I have ever made. Upon arrival, they wished us a happy anniversary (and pronounced our name correctly) and said that our table would be ready in just a moment. We headed to the bar and as soon as we got our drinks, the hostess came over to escort us to our table. It was nice that they did not just call our name. She offered to carry my martini to the table. But not in that stuffy/snobby way, she made a joke that she would have to worry about not spilling it, not me. The waiter also greeted us by name and wished us a happy anniversary. The food and service was perfect; I cannot think of a single thing that would have made it better. When I got up to find the restroom, they even escorted me there, but once again, not it that awkward, stop walking with me kind of way, he made a joke that if I made a wrong turn and ended up in the kitchen that they may put me to work. Top notch service, without making you feel awkward and AMAZING food! The true test came when I went back a second time several months later and the experience was just as great.

This by far was one of the most enjoyable anniversary dinners we have had. We were wished a happy anniversary when were seated which was very promptly. Our waiter also did, the concern and service was impeccable but not in a snobby way. A great time and excellent food!!

Oh, Lordy. I don't know how I can write a review that fully conveys how much I enjoyed my meal here. So let me do it by way of comparison. Have you eaten at Stoney River? I like Stoney River a lot. Now take everything you have at Stoney River, and raise it up a notch. I mean everything....The service (plates barely empty before being removed, glasses never get completely empty, etc.), the salad (lots and lots of cranberries, big pieces of candied walnut), New York strip (double thick, extra buttery flavor, still fork tender), sauteed mushrooms (includes sliced portobello mushrooms with the button mushrooms, garlic cloves, but not overpowering), the au gratin potatoes (cheesier, semi-crispy top from oven baking), lava cake (includes cinnamon ice cream on a tasty cookie. And of course, the price is a notch above, too. Okay, so maybe you think I'm exaggerating. But it's true. I started noticing when the potatoes came out, then noticed it with everything. This was really good food, very attentive service, and a nice nice time.

Got the filet and it was a 4/5 for me. Atmosphere was very nice and service was very nice. If you go, you have to try the mac and cheese, best I have ever had in my life. I'm giving this place a 4 because it didn't amaze me for a high-end steakhouse. I would go back.

  • Justin J.

Fine dining at its best. Be prepared to spend, but it is well worth it here. They even have a ipad that helps pair wine with your entree for you. Great service and an amazing steak. They gave me a $20 gift card because it was my brithday. This is just a classy place that knows how to treat its patrons.

  • Lori C.

The food was delicious. Our group had a variety of Filet preparations. All were amazing and cooked to perfection. The sides are family style so we got to try a few different sides. The Blue Cheese Mashed potatoes and asparagus were excellent. But what makes this stand out for me is the great service. By far and away the best service of any restaurant I have been to in a very long time - and that includes a wonderful evening spent at Annie Gunn's over the holidays. It's pricey, but it was a Wow! evening.

Well...I'm trying to convince myself to give Fleming's four stars but I can't. I went in with high expectations and maybe that's the problem. My steak (center cut fillet) was very good, cooked exactly to temperature and served in a very reasonable time. But it wasn't the best I've ever had in St. Louis. (That distinction still belongs to Citizen Cane's and Sam's.) My wife ordered the salmon and again not the best we've ever had. The service was very good and the price more reasonable than I expected based on comments from friends. I will definitely give Fleming's a second chance and would still recommend it. Too many other Yelper's love it and I think we can get a better experience too. Tip: The restaurant is a large (open-air) squared shaped building and it gets rather noisy in the middle. If you like a more intimate meal, I suggest you request a booth when you make your reservation. We asked for one after they seated us at a table and were told none were available. As we left, about an hour later, two were still empty. Another reason for only three stars.

My wife and I dined here to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. We used the online system to make a reservation. It was way easy to use, and as we arrived at Flemings, the hostess immediately showed us to our table. No Seinfeld issues with reservations here. The restaurant was pretty busy on a Friday night, so this first impression was a big one. We were given a nice table for two and were greeted by our server, James who was all in all really good as was his assistant. Our needs were met all night, including full water and soda. We tried the Crab cakes as an appetizer and they were fabulous. The kitchen got backed up a bit and our steaks took awhile to get cooked and out to us. The manager came by to see us, greeted us by name, congratulated us on our anniversary and apologized. We each had Caesar salads, which were good, nothing to rave about and for the price were actually a bit disappointing. We each had Filets which were cooked perfectly. We shared a half & half platter as a side and it was off the mark. Onion Rings were huge and pretty good. Fries were barely warm which left them limp and unappealing. The sides are the only thing I would I would caution anyone about. At the conclusion, we were given a "Celebration" cake and a personal card signed by the entire staff of the restaurant offering congratulations on our annivesary. To recap, this is a great restaurant. The steak I had here is every bit as good as one of their main competitors, Ruth's Chris. The service was AMAZING, they took supremely good care of us. The sides are a bit of a weak spot compared to other places, they claim family style, in actuality, they are a bit small.

Fleming's does steak sooooooo right........ Every single time I go I get a petite filet and they cook it to perfection at medium rare every time! My grandma, brother and I enjoyed a lovely bottle of Riesling together and the Tuna appetizer. The tuna was spicy, definitely had a kick to it, and it was gobbled up in just a few seconds. The Tuna was rare and delicious. We all had steaks: cooked medium rare. We shared: sauteed spinach and the cheesy jalapeno potatoes: divine || cheesy || delicious Again, Felming's does steak right. Medium Rare, pinky red center, a little juicy, amazing. I don't eat red meat very often (or ever really), but when I go to Felming's I make an exception. yum.

A tremendous dining experience! My date was a little taken aback when our server shook hands with us at the outset of our meal. It was a very nice gesture by a very competent server but in light of a catastrophic flu season it was a bit uncomfortable. Moving on, the service was excellent throughout. The delectable foods were first rate. Our steak was cooked to perfection. The Cajun grilled shrimp was superb. The carrot cake...the best. The GM was very nice and made sure we were happy. We were and we will be back. Loved it!

We have been going to Flemings since they opened and last night was the worst dining experience in a long time. Food was good, but the ambiance and the decorum for an upscale steakhouse was horrible. I felt like it was loud, noisy to the point our table couldn't even talk. The waitress was poor. We ordered wine and had to wait for her to pour and refill while the table that brought their own wine in she kissed their ass. That table had a loud teenage daughter that shouted the entire evening and the dad was dressed in shorts. I expect a nice romantic, ambiance with at least business casual dress code. We are not talking about the bar area or outside dining inside the place. We spent around $450 dollars without tip for a table of 4 and while the food was good we couldn't wait to leave. And they know at Flemings we usually stay and get dessert and after dinner drinks this time we had to ask for our check and we bolted. It will be a cold day before I go back and this was one of our favorite places. I should add my husbands dry aged steak was not very good, had fat and gristle-for the price he was displeased. Hate , Hate, Hate the new music playing it does not fit an upscale steakhouse. They need to have calming music. The waitress could tell we were uncomfortable with the loud table next to us and did nothing to alleviate it. We went there for every special occasion and they know it. It was like being at an overpriced Chucky Cheese on steroids.

I took my wife here for her birthday the other night. We were sat at the time I made a reservation for so there was no waiting. The service was great and the food was exceptional! This was the best bone-in ribeye I have ever eaten and will gladly come back again.

I came to Saint Louis to visit my wife's parents. We stopped by Fleming's one evening and I wasn't really sure what to expect. While I know STL is great for BBQ and Toasted Ravioli (random), I had no idea how the steak was. In NYC, the competition is pretty fierce so my expectations were low. I must admit, when I opened the menu and saw 3 different sizes of filet mignon as the first three items listed in the steak section, those expectation sank even lower. I went back and forth between the bone-in ribeye and the NY strip and settled on the latter. I must say, the NY Strip was GREAT. Perfectly cooked and very well seasoned. The same can be said with the service and all of the other food items. I came away really impressed and will definitely make it a point to come back the next time we are in town.

5* service. For being a a chain this place was amazing. Reserved on their website and told them it was the g/f birthday. Service was amazing. I can't explain how awesome the staff was. After our meal they gave my gf desert and the whole staff signed a bday card and gave her a $25 gift card for future visit. Its quite expensive but well worth it for special occasions.

I had looked forward to take some business guests to Flemings, I had dined at one in Akron and it was excellent but this location seemed to be off on the night we visited. We had the seafood platter for a starter and it was good but didn't have the selection the waitress said was on it, next our steaks were not cooked properly, either too well or too rare, we were limited on time so we just ate them since we would have Bennett late if we sent them back. The service was good but the overall experience wasn't what I expected for a dinner that was nearly $600 for 4 people.

I have eaten at almost all the steak houses in St. Louis and Flemings has to rank in the top 3. We had the French quarter bbq shrimp as an appetizer, Caesar salad, peppercorn steak, the fillet mignon, and shared the lava dessert. All parts of this dinner was outstanding. A little pricey.....but about average for a high quality full steak dinner.

we consider fleming's to be our neighborhood restaurant. granted, we live in a very nice neighbhorhood::) this is by far one of the best places in st louis to get a steak, get a quick bite to eat at the bar or celebrate a big occasion. the service is unparalled, the ambiance clubby but yet elegant, the wine list is outstanding and the management prob the best there is in the business. there is never anything that isn't accomodated for and always with a smile. love this place as it gets better with every passing year.

I often take people here for business dinners, and it has always been a great experience. I always show up a little early, so I have a chance to sit at the bar and eat some of their chips that are just wonderful. Even if you dont show up early and your group wants to relax with a drink at the bar first the staff is not pushy about getting you seated. They are more than willing to hold the table for you while you unwind before dinner. The wine selection is very good. We usually end up with 1 or 2 bottles from the reserve list and have yet to be disappointed. The wait staff that we have had all know their wines and can talk about them beyond what it says on the bottle or on some guide. Decanters are available if requested with no hassle. I have had a wide selection of the entrées and again was not disappointed in any of it. Everything has always been coked perfectly. As for the sides I would have to say their best in the mac and Cheese!

I have been here quite a few times and it has been a great experience except once, so 4 stars. Recently we went on a Monday night and I was very pleased with the food and service. The bread was delicious and it was difficult to choose which type of butter to put on each slice. So I just went back and forth between the two. They were very different, but each delightfully seasoned. We split the wedge salad and this was the perfect portion size. I had the 12 oz. fillet Mignon special. This fillet was (obviously) huge and accompanied by mashed potatoes and green beans, which were all prepared perfectly. The special sauce was to die for. My friend tried it and then asked for some on his steak as well. He had the bone-in fillet, which was also perfectly prepared. For dessert, we couldn't choose, so split the creme brulee and also the mixed berries with creme. Both excellent! We did not get there in time for happy hour, but the specials were truly that! Very reasonable and a good option if you want to indulge without breaking the bank. I have to say the valet went above and beyond too. We did not valet, but it was raining when we left, so he asked the server if the valet could go get the car and they did. He gave them the key. Valet had no problem finding it once they hit the panic button and I didn't ruin my new suede shoes. It was a great evening!

I was a little anxious choosing this restaurant for my birthday dinner, considering how uneven the on-line reviews were... and that's exactly what we ended up getting is an uneven night. Four of us dined there, and all four had steaks. I had the "lite filet" (6 ounces - came with a bite sized portion of the Flemings potatoes, which was perfect for me, since I really just wanted to try them), another had the "petite" (8 ounces) and the two manly men had the "main" (12 ounce) Oscar style. The two smaller steaks were perfectly cooked, well season. The larger steaks had issues. One had an entire corner of nothing but fat, at least an ounce worth. At that point it wasn't worth complaining about since he was done anyway. The other was *not* a center cut filet. It was fatty and had gristle throughout. I do think that if the recipient of the steak had pointed it out to the server, they would have replaced it. That's not his style though, and really.. why is Fleming's serving a filet that is obviously not center cut? The rest of the meal was great. Fresh bread with two kinds of butter was plentiful. We had mashed potatoes and green beans as sides, both good. Service was attentive, the restaurant is nicely decorated.. a little noisy on a Saturday night, but not too bad. Chocolate lava cake to end the evening... phenomenal.. highly recommend it! The four of us shared the one dessert, since we were pretty stuffed after steak. The bill was fairly reasonable, for a nice steak place. Don't go if you're expecting Outback prices. If you're used to Morton's, Ruth's Chris or Jeff Ruby's, this place's bill won't come as a surprise.

Food is delicious and the staff is kind and well trained. We found it a little overbearing as we were often interrupted with questions about the food/service and we just wanted to chat more privately. I feel like they treat everyone the same and should read their customers better.

Definitely for special occasions. Fleming's is a classy joint. I got the Bone-In Filet and it was excellent. My wife got a three-course meal (salad, braised cut of beef, and dessert) and loved every course. Also, would highly recommend the blue cheese butter on the mashed potatoes and the chocolate lava cake. Every thing we ate was great. The wine selection was great, but the one I selected (Irony Pinor Noir) was so-so. The service was excellent as well. Overall, worth every penny and would recommend it highly. I don't give it five stars only because it is a chain. Gotta reserve the highest ranks for the locals!

I've been to most of the major chain steakhouses and in my experience Flemings comes out on top. Everything was consistently very very good which provided an enjoyable dinner. We had the: Ahi tuna appetizer that was solid (its hard to go wrong with such a safe pick), ribeyes (mmmm) flemings potatoes (a must order) grilled asparagus and the choco lava cake to finish it off. For me, the steaks came out just slightly below Ruth's Chris (I must like butter) but everything else was superior. We went here for a special occasion and while it was acknowledged in the beginning, nothing else was done special for us. It would have been nice to have something scribbled on the dessert we got. small beans but just a heads up to future special event diners! So the all important question....would I go again? absolutely!

This is my first time dining at Flemings. All I can say is ..."WOW!" This is a nice place to dress up for a birthday, anniversary, or any other special occasion. The service is spectacular. First, when making the reservation, they ask if it's a special occasion (for us, it was our 20th anniversary). When we got there, everyone wished us Happy Anniversary. Also, our server was wonderful. Everything was served with perfect timing, glasses are never empty, and nothing is rushed. You will have time to enjoy your wine and salad or appetizer before your entree is brought out. Portions are perfect, the food is delicious (I had the filet mignon), and my wife and I loved the bread with the two different spreads. (just be careful to not fill up on bread). Our reservation was at 615pm, and we didn't leave until 930pm.. They don't rush you. Also, the wine list is on an iPad, and if you like your wine, you can email the name of the wine to yourself during dinner. Just understand, everything is priced separately. However, two people can share a side, so order two different sides if you are going as a couple. Finally, it is a little pricey. If you are going as a couple, plan on spending between $150-$200. However, it is well worth it. If its a special occasion, they even bring you a signed card from all of the staff, and a nice gift. Thank you to the staff for making our evening wonderful. One more thing, .....order the lava cake for dessert!!!!

Brought my wife here for her birthday and had a great time! The food was delicious. I had the filet, and my wife had a shrimp entree. We shared the Mac & Cheese which was awesome! We also ordered cocktails which were the best! I had the Remy Sidecar, and she had the Skinny Farmer's Daughter (I think). Both were top notch. While the food & drinks were top-tier, its the quality of service that makes Flemming's one of the best restaurants that I've dined at here in STL. From the moment we pulled in, to when we left, the crew made use feel special at all times. Five Stars.

Pricey place to eat, but it was the best steak I have ever eaten in my life. I got a special for the day which was a 30 day dry aged strip topped with some pesto and blue cheese. There was just enough smoke flavor in the meat to balance out the seasoning of the pesto and blue cheese. I got the flemming's potatoes as a side, but could only eat about a third of them because I got so filled up on the steak. Definately a place to go to impress someone. The reason I say pricey is because I usually don't eat at high end places like this. If you put the awesome service, decor, and food into perspective then it is definately well worth the price. Ended up spending about $125 with tip for two of us.

I still can't believe how much we ate at our anniversary dinner at Fleming's! Thank goodness for the gift certificate and our healthy appetites. The Cajun barbecue shrimp appetizer had a delicious kick and disappeared all too quickly, but our steaks and three sides (Fleming's potatoes, chipotle macaroni and cheese and sauteed spinach) were right behind it. My petit filet was cooked perfectly, Justin enjoyed his steak and we tried to figure out the recipe for those Fleming's potatoes while we savored every bite. Fresh berries with Chantilly cream brought the meal to a sweet close and I probably could've fallen comfortably into a food coma right there in my chair. Since we ordered like pigs, we had plenty of leftovers and everything reheated nicely the next day for lunch. The service was quite good, but I noticed something interesting. I realize Fleming's is an upscale place (even if it's a chain), so their service is expected to be impeccable and professional. Our server started out attentive and professional, but almost to a fault. She wasn't cold--more timid, like she couldn't be herself or something. Anyway, Justin and I are pretty laid back kids and once we were able to convey that to her, she loosened up as well. That does not mean our service suffered--in fact, I'd say it was even better because our server ended up having a really warm personality and she continued to be attentive to our needs. As an anniversary gift, we were presented with a box of chocolate-covered giant strawberries and a card signed by the folks on staff that night. Definitely a nice touch! It's likely we wouldn't have made the trip to Fleming's if we hadn't had a gift certificate, but I'm glad we had the chance to check it out. The food was delicious and our server turned out to be a doll. I'd happily go back--especially if someone else is footing the bill!

Excellent food, service and ambience! It's pretty expensive, but well worth it for a special occasion. Try the Fleming's potatoes! They are fantastic and a nice change from a baked potato, which usually comes with steak. All of the appetizers we have tried are excellent as well. The tuna, beef carpaccio, and the Brie are all very good.

This review is for their happy hour. May be one of the best if not the best upscale happy hour in the city. Starts at 5PM, try to get there by 6PM if you want to find a seat. The happy hour is only in the bar area, and it isn't that big. Great menu, we've had $6 burgers, TENDERLOIN CARPACCIO, seared ahi tuna, and SWEET CHILE CALAMARI. All were really great. Also can order off the menu if you want. The martini specials are all very tasty and they also have wine certain glasses of wine on happy hour special as well. We've already been there a couple times and I am sure will be going back again.

We tried Fleming's for the first time this past weekend. The occasion was a birthday celebration and dining at Fleming's was an excellent experience. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly hostess, who also acknowledged the birthday celebration. We were immediately seated and from this point on we were treated very well by all the wait staff; even the manager stopped by to greet us. While we waited for our meal, we enjoyed a glass of wine and fresh baked bread that was accompanied with two very unique spreads-both very tasty! My husband enjoyed a Ribeye steak and the spicy potatoes au gratin, and I had the crab cake burger. The entire meal was excellent from start to finish! My husband even boasted that he could cut his steak with a butter knife. The portions were perfect-actually you get more than your monies worth, so we had to take dessert to go. For dessert we had the Carmel Turtle Pie, which was great also. I can't say anything negative about the entire dining experience and the best part for my husband was the fact they didn't perform a cheesy birthday song for him, but instead he was presented with a signed birthday card from all the staff that evening and given a box of chocolates, which I'm enjoying myself. I highly recommend trying out Fleming's if in the area. Fleming's may be considered pricey, but definitely worth the money. We will definitely go back when we are in the area, and we want to send a special thanks to Eric and James for their excellent service that evening.

I love the 5-6-7 happy hour. You can get one of the finest burgers with peppercorn bacon on a fabulous bakery bun... for $6. Add a couple of $3 happy hour beers and you have a fabulous meal at a high dollar restaurant on the cheap, but be sure to arrive early, it's a small bar area with limited seating.

My wife and I go their every year for our anniversary. The service is amazing. The food is great. Since they knew we were returning guests, we got extra special treatment. Our main reason for not even considering anyplace else for a fine dining experience. Yes it is a bit expensive. But, the food is great. I would highly suggest making a reservation and asking for Derek to be your server/waiter. He will make the experience worth while.

Quite a disapointment. Two of the four of us ordered prime rib. It was very tough. I sent mine back. They came out with a new piece that was equally tough. They offered to give me another cut of meat but by the time it would have been served everyone else would have been pretty much done. So, I told them to forget it and after sawing through about half of the prime rib I gave up an left the rest. For the prices charged at this steakhouse everything should be top notch, no exceptions, no excuses. If the meat is not up to standards they should take it off the menu rather than serve it. They did not charge me for the prime rib but I would much rather pay full price and get what I was paying for. No more Flemings for me. One other thing. I ordered a glass of white wine and it was inapproriately served at room temperature.

Simply delicious. I've been lucky enough on two occasions to be treated to a four-course meal here. This is definitely in the higher price range, but worth it for a special meal. I've had their seared ahi tuna and bruschetta as appetizer...yum. I actually got the tuna complimentary because they had accidentally made two for the table next to me. That's service! The spinach and portabello salad is also a must-try, if just for the crispy goat cheese on top. I've also tried their steak, seafood and stuffed chicken. If I had to choose, I'd go with the steak. Top-grade meat cooked to perfection. All of their sides are rich and are large portions. The comment earlier about not stepping on a scale after dining here is so true! The wine selection is also good. You are surrounded by the wine rooms, which adds to the ambiance. I was treated to a $150 bottle of champagne, so that only added to the experience. Yes, I am spoiled!

I ate at Flemings for a business seminar which featured their lunch menu. I had the salmon salad which was delicious. I felt everything was seasoned and dressed appropriately, and the fish was succulant. Since we were in a back room, i was not able to expereince the ambience of the restaurant, but it is a place I look forward to returning to for dinner. The staff was very curteous and attentive as well. I have also heard great things about the Happy Hour which I look forward to stopping by at some point. I hope to add onto this review after my next visit

I'm a vegetarian...I can't eat a darn thing here. It's kind of annoying, but that's not why I am giving them five stars (obviously, who gives five stars for THAT?). I have to say, I am a HUGE fan of the happy hour here. They have amazing specials, both on drinks and food, and it makes going to a fancy schmancy place like this a possibility for the poorer folk like myself. Even for the happy hour, the service is AMAZING here and the drinks are incredibly delicious. If you want to sample this place before dropping a lot of dough and you want to really KNOW what you are getting into, come to the happy hour. You will not be disappointed and you won't spend a lot of money. AMAZING.

my husband took me to flemings for my birthday. we were seated immediately even though we were early for our reservation. everyone that came in contact with us throughout the evening wished me a happy birthday. nathan our server was very helpful and knowledgeable. he guided me through the ipad wine list. the steaks and sides were all excellent. i had the prime new york strip and my husband had the filet with almond encrusted shrimp. as sides we had the fleming potatoes and asparagus. we had creme brulee and fresh berries with chantilly creme for dessert. at the end of dinner nathan presented me with a box of truffles, a $25 discount for a future visit, and his business card. this was an exceptional dinner. the only thing that could possibly detract from your dining experience is the noise level. thank you flemings for a wonderful birthday dinner!

Dining here was an excellent experience. I walked up to the door and a man opened it for me and offered to park my car. Valet parking is a classy touch I think. I was seated very quickly. The hostess had a very elaborate wine list on a tablet device. When the waiter came he referred to me by name based on what I told the hostess. That was another classy touch that really went the extra mile, so to speak. They brought out bread which was very good. I passed on the appetizer and got the bar-b-qed salmon. They asked how I would like it cooked. If you know anything about cooking fish then you know cooking rare medium or well done or any variation in between is not easy to do consistently. I ordered it medium. It came medium. The chef delivered the plate to the table himself which was another classy touch. It was excellent. I had the carrot cake as a desert. It was the richest, most outstanding carrot cake I've had. It came with house made carrot puree and house made whipped cream. As I said, it was the best carrot cake I've had. The service was excellent. I will be eating here again and I would recommend it to a friend.

With James as your manager and long time Flemings employee John either behind the bar or working the tables your in good hands...Actually everyone at this restaurant from the lovely young ladies that greet you to the newbies filling the waters are just top notch. They seem to enjoy their job and work hard. The food is top notch steak house. The best cuts, nice portion sides.. Rather than go through the menu, my go to selections are usually...Flemings salad, Lobster tempura ( this is big enough to share I would suggest for a table of 4 as an appetizer..it may be a lot of fried food for a sole entree... all the steaks are great but make sure you ask for a side of their homemade steak sauce...a bit of a secret so you need to ask! AMAZING..wish they would bottle it. Desserts great, your usuals...chocolate molten cake etc. The bar is always packed and it has a few booths, come early as it fill up quick. People dressed from nice jeans to suits..( although not many suits on weekends). Make a reservation

We took my daddy here for Father's Day, and it was perfect. The waiter, James (who told us he is actually the bartender), was super, as was all of the staff. The service was... incredible. Very attentive, without being over-bearing. The food was awesome--in our party of four, we had: apps: carpaccio, calamari, and mushroom ravioli sides/ etc: spinach-portabella salad x2, french onion soup, baked potato, fleming's potatoes (essentially, scalloped potatoes), sauteed mushrooms entree: prime rib dinner x2, sole, veal chop desert (!!): chocolate lava cake, cheesecake, berries with chantilly cream, creme brulee, ice cream with pistachio cookies Yes, it was a lot of food, but it was a special occasion... and it was fun to make it nice for my parents. And yes, the prices are high (yes, there were drinks involved, as well), but for the service and the quality of food, we did not mind paying, and you shouldn't either! Honestly, we were a little weary of going here at first--I tend not to be a big fan of restaurants attached to malls--but this was fantastic all around. :)))

Flemings Steakhouse is a great place to dine on steak and have a nice glass of wine. I like their bread and appetizers as well. It's pretty pricey, so go being aware you might spend 30-40 bucks per person.

Fleming's is an upscale chain of steakhouses (brought to you by the folks from Outback) that does things so much better than their faux-Aussie counterparts. Their wine list is superb, and when I do a wine flight, I have always been presented with great examples by the wait staff. My favorite is the filet, and in the four or five times I've visited, I have never had an overcooked steak. The Flemings potatoes are excellent, and so are the shoestring potatoes. Try the mashed potatoes with blue cheese (sense a theme here with starches?) or the creamed corn (damnation, it's good!) On Sundays, they have a prime rib special. The wait staff is absolutely professional, and the atmosphere can be rather romantic (unless there's a table of obnoxious business guys, as we experienced one night.) In all, I really look forward to a meal here.

Waiter: Wine by the glass sir? Me: Why yes what are you offering? Waiter: Here is volume one of our selection I'll have gilberto wheel in volume two. SERIOUSLY aside from Annie Gunns you can't find a better wine list in St Louis. Over 200 wines by the glass. It is unfortunate that this is a chain of restaurants but they redeem the 1 star that I would normally take away, because their service was incredible. Never had to touch the wine bottle, glasses were always full and table etiquete was followed perfectly. On to the food... The calimari while It probably belongs on PF Changs menu was delicious with a decidedly asian flare. The bone in Rib Eye I had was prepared to a perfect medium rare, the Steak au poivre was prepared rare for the girlfriend, both delicious. Now for the serious stuff the side dish of sugar snap peas with a little aisian sauce great but the Potatos Fleming Holy Crap I think they're illegal in 8 states a layer of potato then cheese then jalepenos, repeat, repeat, repeat.... I don't know the cheese to potato to jalepenos ratio but you have to get this!!!! Finish it off with the Chocolate Lava Cake and don't get on the scale for 2 to 3 weeks. So good the Dinger doesn't want to leave.

We love Flemings! It's our go-to place to eat for special occasions. We just had the most amazing experience...even better than we usual expect (which is great)! Our waitress was very attentive, friendly, prompt, and as an added bonus...she looked just like Megan Fox! Maybe it was the wine, but everything seemed to taste even more amazing when it was delivered by Ms. Fox! You must try this place!

Not worth the value that they charge for. Nice atmosphere, but food was not great and took some time to arrive. My steak was not well prepared and was served cold. There are plenty of other options where you can get a better meal for a lot less.

We had reservations for our anniversary, but our table wasn't ready when we arrived (on time). For ten minutes, we stood by the door and waited because the bar was full. They seated us in the back room, a brightly lit space (bright enough to see how filthy the carpets were). We were one of two tables in the space without kids. We love children and have two of our own. However, we left ours at home with a babysitter and were not pleased about being seated amongst about four tables, or 15 children, some of whom were shooting spit wads and spilling Shirley Temples. We asked to be seated elsewhere, and the manager and our waitress were accommodating. In fact, our waitress was just wonderful. She was the bright spot in the evening. It took about an hour for our food to arrive after ordering it, and it was okay, not great. I had the red snapper, and my husband had the bone-in ribeye. My salad was watery iceberg lettuce. We had to ask for water a few times. They tried to make up for the wait and seating snafu at various points throughout the evening, at first with a shrimp cocktail and later dessert. Our bill was about $200 for three drinks and two entrees. We would not have even thought about that if we had enjoyed a delicious meal and romantic ambience. We will never go back. We are heading back to Annie Gunn's for our special occasions. We had a nice anniversary celebration despite our experience here, not because of it. Note: We didn't receive a signed card and gift, as mentioned by another reviewer here.

Wow, I had heard this place was good, but they were really good on my visit! Tried ravioli and wine as I waited during happy hour. I had a large filet with a topping of truffle poached lobster with bearnaise sauce and caviar. Absolutely divine! Can't wait to get this again. Also got to try a peppercorn steak topped with their signature F17 sauce. That sauce is incredible. It's a proprietary blend of 17 ingredients, I was told.

I have eaten here a lot. I get some good perks from my AMEX card to eat here. The food is always great, steak temps are always right on and the small plate section has some good choices like a hanger steak and short ribs. Most of the time when I dine there I always sit at the bar and eat. Always great service and they really help you pick and choice wine pairings for your meal. Great wine selection by the glass.

If your an attention whore like me, you're gonna love this place! I honestly don't think I've been paid this much attention to at a restaurant ever. It was getting kind of addicting. I kinda, like, want to live here. Ok, but seriously. I thought that Fleming's was going to be like every other high-end steakhouse chain restaurant. Actually, there were a few things that made it different. 1. They have 100 wines by the glass. Say what?!? It's true and I love them for it. 2. The service - holy cow! We were called by name the entire meal, all of our questions were answered knowledgeably, we were checked on by several people to ensure we were having a great experience. I even got an email the next day thanking me for dining there. 3. The food was delicious and had a unique spin on the common steakhouse fare. The wedge salad was a blue cheese lover's dream, with creamy dressing, candied bacon, fried onions strings and a separate square of blue cheese on the side. The filet was about the best filet I've had in a while...and I just got back from Vegas where I had a filet a day it seems like. The blue cheese mashed potatoes? Hello looovah! Do yourself a favor and try them. The lava cake is a special kind of indulgence. Share it with someone special. 4. This goes with service, but deserves it's own number. We were celebrating our anniversary. At the end of the meal, they gave us a hand-signed card from the staff, a small box of house-made truffles AND a $25 gift card to come back. Unbelievable. I couldn't have asked for a better anniversary evening or, for that matter, a better overall dining experience.

Last night I paid $36.50 for 1/2 a filet of salmon with nothing else on the plate. It truly was two slim strips of salmon. Outrageous! Of course I had to order a side, which I did, steamed broccoli heads for $8.50. Craziness. I eat out often and never complain about the price, but this was ridiculous! They should have cut the cost of the salmon in half or given me the other half of the filet. Not a penny-pincher (ask my husband),I don't mind paying high prices, and I have been to Flemings many times, but this experience guarantees I won't be back!

Took my mom here as a treat before I had to fly out the next morning. And it was a wonderful experience! I had made reservations for 6 pm initially. We found ourselves there around 5:15 and hungry, so we asked if we could move our reservation up. They had no problem accommodating us. We went on a Sunday evening, and they were having their prime rib special. We both got that. It comes with a giant portion of prime rib, a side item, and a dessert. Per person. The prime rib is cooked PERFECTLY and came with a trio of sauces. My favorite was the au jus. It also comes with a side, and all the sides are more than enough to share. I recommend getting different ones and alls sharing. It also comes with a dessert. Service was incredible, food came out quickly and beyond amazing, and the atmosphere was great. We will definitely be coming back here.

Talk about complete 180! I was invited back by James the operating partner to hopefully have a better experience and I will have to say he pulled out a home run. My previous expirenice was when I had not really been exposed to very many upscale steak restaurants and since then I have been to quite a few and have picked up on a few things. I was very busy over the end of the year into the beginning of the year so it took a couple months to finally take James up on his offer. He setup a reservation for me and I received confirmation emails within a hour or two. I felt sort of like everyone was expecting me when I walked in, People kept whispering is he here yet? Then James came over and introduced himself, he was really nice. I could tell he really wanted our evening to go well. Our waiter was really good he is one of their trainers I think and for a good reason, he was very friendly and super attentive. He also maid some good suggestions on getting my steak iron seared, which was fantastic. I will ask for him by name next time. I ordered a caprese salad from the recommendation of our waiter and my wife got a Flemings salad we split the bread that was brought to the table. The caprese salad was incredibly fresh and delicious, I think it was a special that day. My wife liked her salad but likes a little less onion, she did like the walnuts and cranberries though. I ordered the Dry aged New York strip and my wife got the brazed short rib, both came out perfectly done. MY wife wasn't sure what she was getting but enjoyed everything. We also got the grilled asparagus which was very good and full of flavor. I asked for some steak sauce and they had a hard time finding some, which I though was a little odd. I usually don't use a lot but like to dip every once and a while. One of the owners brought over some Worcestershire sauce and Heinz 57 sauce, I think that was the combination. I dipped in one than the other and it was surprisingly good. For desert we were going to order the carrot cake but before we could ask, our waiter came over with a platter of desserts. We thought he was going to show us what they had to offer and then when he sat it down in between us we were shocked and not prepared to eat all this food. There was a delicious Raspberry sorbet, a Fresh berry cup, molten lava chocolate cake, crème brulee, vanilla ice cream on pistachio cookies, and chocolate truffles on the edge of the dish with chocolate syrup. We ate everything that could melt first and then slowly worked our way through some bites of everything else. We finally had to tap out of the fat kids dream and come back to reality. Our waiter came back and asked how everything was, I told him I was absolutely stuff and that everything was wonderful, then said you know you never gave us time to actually order, my wife wanted to carrot cake. He laughed and said "you probably wont have room for it now" and walked off with the plate of half eaten desserts. When he came back with a bag full of our packed up dinners he also stuffed a to go box with carrot cake in it and said to enjoy it later. I am still to this day trying to recover from all that delicious food, and appreciate everything they did for little old me and my wife. I know it wasn't a normal dinner but I can only take away what was presented a fantastic dinner and excellent service. Thanks for a wonderful evening James.

We've been here plenty of times so it's about time I give them the good review. For starters, every single time we've been to Fleming's, the food and service have been spot on - overall great establishment! We stopped in yesterday for their happy hour which is the best in St Louis in my opinion and very much worth the drive! Sat at the bar and had a server who we see often working there - taller guy w/ glasses. Missed his name but he always provides the best service and is so friendly!!! Wife and I had the bacon cheeseburger special - guys, this is one of the best burgers in St Louis and the happy hour price cannot be beaten. Also they had a number of bottles of wine on special for half the normal price. You might get the idea but this is easily the best kept secret in St Louis. Happy hour at Fleming's has the best food, drinks and service all around. Give it a shot if you've been considering as you won't be let down!!!

There were some things about Flemings I did really love. Our appetizer, while expensive, was worth it with the shrimp, lobster and crab and very delicious. I can't really complain about my dinner, lobster. The waiter removed the lobster from the shell for me which was nice. Or my husbands dinner, steak. It's just the prices. He tried the Bearnaise sauce with caviar and that was so not worth $15.00. I got the truffle mashed potatoes thinking that would be special but it was really just dry mashed potatoes, if truffles were in there I am not sure. My vanilla bean creme brulee was fabulous. Be prepared to spend a lot because everything is Ala cart. Also be prepared that unlike many other restaurants, they charge for coffee with dessert. I found this rather tacky. From fine dining to cheap places, most don't charge for coffee after you just purchased an expensive dinner with wine. And lastly the place is far too noisy to really talk with your dinner date. And they really need to turn the music down.

We've been waiting to try out Fleming's happy hour for some time. They have a nice menu of $6 food & drink items if you choose to eat in the bar. There in lies the only problem. There are only 3 booths in the bar and about 10 bar seats. The two previous times we came, all the bar seating was taken. This time we got a chance to try the calamari, which was dressed lightly with a sweet & sour sauce. We also ordered the burrata... which was basically deconstructed bruschetta. It was ok. And then we split one of their burgers. The burger was the best, served with house cut fries and peppered bacon. Some of these upscale chains are simply too expensive for normal consumption, but if you're willing to eat early and post-up at the bar, you can savor the same grub for much cheaper.

My husband and I went this last weekend to Flemings Steak House. When I say the service was phenomenal, I mean phenomenal! We have gone to restaurants all over the U.S. and this is by far the best we have eaten at. The sweet calamari was fib and the fillet and lobster was incredible. The only other restaurant that compares with Flemings is Gibson's in Chicago, but Flemings had much better service. We never had to ask for anything to be refilled etc., it was done. The manager came around and checked on us to see if we were happy with food and service. We will be going back soon.....

Ah Fleming's... Well there is a reason they are in business and that is because they know how to cook a steak! The fare here is fantastic and I am yet to be disappointed in anything that I've ordered. The service is fantastic and I really cannot complain about wait times as I have never waited- although, like most nice restaurants I make a reservation a few days in advance. The prices are what you'd expect from a chain-upscale steakhouse. It's not cheap, but well worth the price for the portion and quality. I usually only go with 1 other person and we get a bottle of wine with our dinner. Never have room for dessert, but we have taken them to go and I must say that even hours later they taste amazing! Usually spend about $150 for the 2 of us, which is reasonable and comparable to other restaurants of this variety. Will keep dining here as our 'special occasion' meal place.

The best cocktails ever. Delicious ever time we go. Worth every dollar. Love this place. Can't wait to go back. I do not recommend the chicken. Over cooked and dry. But there are so many other choices and all are great. Excellent service. Excellent atmosphere.

If you're into "meat" this is your place. That's why I chose the establishment to dine with my hubby for our 25 anniversary. He got the coveted filet and it was everything promised. I on the other hand went with the house special which was the sword fish, blackened, covered in an apricot sauce with warm quac and cherry tomatoes on the side....AWESOME. Service unpretentious but very attending, management warm and friendly. They recognized our event and we were very touched.

From the moment you walk in this handsome Frontenac establishment you will know you are in an for a sumptuous dining experience. This elegant steakhouse is top notch in terms of food, wine, ambiance, expertise & service. While Fleming's is a "chain" steakhouse with over 60 locations nationwide you would never get a "chain" vibe from this superlative restaurant. My husband and I have dined here on many occasions as well as attended several of their wine events and have never failed to be blown away by our experience. If you like excellent steak and seafood, fastidious service and a wine list teeming with amazing selections Flemings is your kind of place. Flemings has a wine program that is unparalleled with 100 different wines offered by the glass. Their wine list consists of many California wines and some from around the world. (Germany, Portugal, Spain, France & South America) The service staff is very professional and knowledgable about wines. They are also very personal calling you by name. They referred to us throughout our dinner as Mr. & Mrs L. Flemings Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar is a first class dining experience and is also an expensive night out. Before you go, make a reservation on Open Table, look your best, make sure your bank account if flush and be ready to be dazzled.

I felt compelled to review Fleming's because of the way they turned our first visit from a negative to a positive experience. We went for the first time to celebrate a special occasion based on feedback from friends who had nothing but glowing remarks about Fleming's. Initially we had an issue with the way both our steaks were cooked initially. The waiter immediately got a manager type involved and they indicated they would re cook both of our meals and then re-set the table with fresh silverware while offering a bounty of apologies. Unfortunately, one of the steaks was not cooked properly the second time and both the waiter and manager were again apologetic and re-fired the steak. At this point we had decided that it would probably be our first and last visit to Fleming's, After we finished our meals, which were awfully good, the waiter brought us one of each dessert, free of charge, then comped the entire meal and gave us a $25 gift card to use at a future date. We will be using that soon, as the entire staff was impressive and the level of service was outstanding, in spite of some early hiccups.

Always have a great meal here. The cauliflower that came with the deconstructed porterhouse had the perfect flavor. It was accompanied with smashed potatoes that were a perfect combination of flavor and texture. My husband, who "doesn't eat sweets", polished off his half of the chocolate lava cake. This included the delicious cake, with a cookie, ice cream and pistachio nuts and whip-td cream. We are so full and happy, words cannot describe!

Service was great, wine was great. Dry aged steak was full of gristle and fat. A 60 dollar steak should not feel like bubble gum in my mouth... Pretty disappointed. Top 40 music was playing in the background. Did not fit the ambiance. Will not go back.

Great service, good food. My filet was a little more cooked than I asked, but not too bad. We had a group of 7 and the staff was fantastic and super accommodating.

I went into Flemings for happy hour and got a drink and ordered the burger for $6. I couldn't have asked for a better burger. Although everyone thinks of pricey when they think of Flemings... I would rethink. Happy hour is 4-7 so stop in and have a drink and a juicy burger!

My boyfriend and i went here on Valentine's day and let me tell you, it was a full house. Reservations were at 8:30 and they sat us down right away. Maybe I've been hyping myself up too much while reading the many outstanding reviews on yelp, but I was expecting a "red carpet" to roll out under me while walking in. That did not happen. The hostesses didn't greet us by our names (as mentioned in other reviews) and neither did the waitress. Nonetheless, they were very friendly and I felt welcomed. We sat us down, and the server assistant immediately greeted us and introduced himself. Anyways, let's break it down: Atmosphere: A++++ Loved it! it was romantic without being overdone, classic with a touch of modern decorations, dimly lit while still being able to read the menu, and lastly the music was upbeat house/alternative with a lounge-y feel to it. Service: Our server's name was Jessica. She was really friendly and contributed to our positive experience. She was knowledgeable and made recommendations on the drinks and even took back my drink and gave me a different one because I didn't like it! (The bourbon cocktail was a bit odd). She was awesome. Food: So, let's get this straight - I am a big foodie and when it comes to the rating of a restaurant - FOOD IS KING. I know, I Know it was Valentine's day, but I felt that the food was missing some extra oomph. For the appetizer, we got the Tenderloin Carpaccio. Although the meat was delicious, the bread was stale and barely warm. The staleness of the bread took away the perfection of the beef and overall, I ended up eating the beef alone without the bread. For the main course, I got the main filet and my boyfriend got the Ribeye. The main filet mignon was PERFECTION - absolute perfection. Pair it with the chimchurri sauce and it was heaven. The ribeye on the other hand, was so-so. He actually ordered a bone-in ribeye but was given the boneless. It wasn't that big of a deal, but when you pay nearly $60 for just a steak, you kind of expect them to at least bring out the correct one. He said it wasn't as tender as he thought it would be (of course considering that it's a Ribeye, I didn't expect it to be as tender as the filet mignon). I've had other ribeyes at big steak chain restaurants like Ruth Chris, Mastro's, etc, and it didn't really didn't meet the standard. It's not even as good as the prime USDA Costco ribeye cooked at home. We got the Fleming's potatoes as a side, and it was pretty good. Finally, the finale, the chocolate lava cake. Hmm, every girl loves chocolate and I am no stranger to that. The chocolate cake was a little bit too bread-y for me, and not moist enough....A bit disappointing to say the least. The melted chocolate inside was good, though. So folks, that's why I gave it a 3-star rating. I felt that the quality of food was not proportionate to the prices; I would have given the food 4 or 4.5 stars if it were from a less expensive restaurant. TLDR; appetizer bread was stale, ribeye steak was sorely disappointing and was the wrong one, dessert was a miss. Everything else was on point. I'd rather go to Ruth Chris St Louis to satisfy my steak cravings.

My family ate dinner here 2 weeks ago. I was so distracted, I forgot to write a review. The ENTIRE experience was wonderful. Its a lovely space. Great menu choices. I shared lobster tails and others in my party enjoyed the prime rib. Desserts were scrumptious. The service was outstanding.

I was brought to Fleming's as a belated 21st birthday dinner, and oh what a tasty and classy way to welcome adulthood! Ambiance: 4/5 Spacious, well lit, clean and comfortable but with an air of sophistication. It wasn't especially memorable however. Ask for a leather booth for a smaller group and more intimate feel. It was also too loud for my liking, at such a fancy place, and I had to strain to hear the conversation right across from me. Service: 5/5 Fast, polite, good wine recs. The manager came to visit us. Also, I got a birthday card signed by all the staff and a little box of 4 truffles to take home. Awesome. Food: 4/5 WARNING: Portions are TINY! I ordered the Petit Filet Mignon, while friends ordered the Newport and Porcini rub. Petit is no frills, just a teensy slice half the size of my palm on a giant white plate. For the price, geez atleast make it look appetizing- with a garnish or include some sides with it. BUTTTT The meat was juicy, tender, and the perfect amount of medium rare. When we tried each other's food, we decided that all of them tasted the same, except the Porcini had a bit of cheese on top. - On initial bite the lava cake was delicious served with ice cream and whipped cream, but with each bite the saltiness of the pistachios became almost overbearing at the end. I still did enjoy it, but I don't know if most people can handle that sort of salt in what should be a sweet dessert

Disappointed. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was nice. Bone in rib-eye was cooked spot on but was ruined by an over abundance of salt. Didn't even finish it. $200 with tip for a dinner for two.

Overall great experience, only real recently have I seen some mis-steps. However, even with that said I would not hesitate as this place knows a good steak (bone-in ribeye med. rare)

Excellent food and service. Steak was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. You get what you pay for and this place served up the best. I usually Use A1 on every streak I order but the steak I had last night didn't need any sauce. Overall great experience.

Steaks 5/5 Desserts 5/5 Appetizers 5/5 (portions small) Sides 4.5/5 (great size for sharing) Service 4.5/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Flemings is my husband and I's go-to place for celebration dinners. It has by far the best steak I've ever had, and the quality is consistent as well as the temperature. I prefer my steaks medium rare, and they are always cooked to perfection. My absolute favorite menu item is the chocolate lava cake with their homemade Chantilly cream - simply to die for!!!

Fleming's is five-star all the way... from the food, to service, to atmosphere. You just KNOW you're in for a good meal as soon as your reservation is made. The little touches they add just make it so special. When I asked the hostess for a booth instead of a table, she mentioned that no booths were available at the time, but it would be noted in our profile that we prefer booths for next time. Wow, okay! When our server comes to the table, we are greeted with "Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. H." The bus boys pay attention to every last detail when setting the table... wiping away the slightest smudge on wine glasses and ensuring that the table looks impeccable. The food here is AH-MAZE-ING!!! I cannot stress enough how good it is! I'll start with the bread... it's a warm loaf served with two specialty butters, one blended with feta cheese and the other with sun dried tomato. They are equally tasty. My husband and I really carb out when we come here, thanks to this bread. We both opted for a special pre-fix during last night's dinner. For our starter, we each had a classic wedge salad. Although, this salad looks anything but classic... it looks more like a work of art! A crispy piece of bacon and a block of blue cheese, both ready to crumble, lean against the lettuce wedge that is drizzled with blue cheese dressing and topped with tomato. The entree was a bacon wrapped filet, served with two jumbo crab stuffed shrimp and a mashed potato side. Both of our filets were cooked to perfection and were topped with a light peppercorn sauce. The shrimp we were served must have been on steroids. These things were HUGE! Both the shrimp and crab stuffing had a hint of spiciness to them. Our server was nice enough to let one of us swap out our mashed potato side. The sides here are big enough for two people to share and that way we had a bit more variety. We chose asparagus instead. We were carful not to finish everything on our plates so that we had room for dessert. Dessert here is a must! My husband and I each have our favorites, and the desserts can easily be shared, but when you're each craving something different, might as well go big or go home, right? That being said, my husband enjoys their chocolate lava cake. It has a warm and gooey salted chocolate center that spills on the plate after the first bite is taken. It's served with vanilla ice cream, homemade chantilly whipped cream, and raspberries. I've tried a bite or two each time my husband orders this and it is VERY good. My personal favorite is the carrot cake. Carrot cake is my absolute favorite dessert, and the cake served at Flemings is superior to any other. I dream about it at night. It is so moist, includes chunks of pineapple throughout, and has layers of cream cheese icing in every bite. I would go for this carrot cake alone if I could. If you're looking for a nice place to enjoy a special evening, Fleming's is tough to beat. Go now!

All I can remember is that it was a rainy day and we waited for 40 minutes to be seated...The food was actually pretty good but I don't think it lived up to my expectation and compensated for my long wait.

This is truly a classy place with great food and great service. The service is very understated, they stop by just enough but not too much. We went here for a celebration, just the two of us and had a great time. When they seated us, they gave us an ipad which had their very extensive wine list. They promptly brought some bread and toppings. When we placed our wine order, I asked for their gluten-free menu and they brought it promptly. Then the server offered to bring me some raw veggies to nosh on since I couldn't eat the bread. That was so nice! I have never experienced that before! I had one of their small plates - sliced filet mignon shiitake risotto, chili oil, porcini butter drizzle. I'm not a big hunk of meat gal, so this was the perfect serving for me. The meat was not over cooked and it was melt in your mouth delicious. I also had the house salad which was a good sized serving. Hubby had the big hunk of meat (bone in ribeye) with some spinach and he enjoyed every minute of his meal. We finished off our meal with some espresso. Since we were celebrating our birthdays, they brought each of us a small box of truffles as their gift. It was a fabulous meal and I heartily endorse this spot. Thank you to the staff for making it a great evening.

Went here last week while in St. Louis on business. I would recommend finding a different steakhouse. The experience was, all in all, odd and the food quality did not live up to the price tags. I showed up a bit before the dinner rush and had to make a reservation at their front desk prior to being seated. That was bizarre. The waiter was a poorly shaven kid; his mannerisms and appearance did not make me think of fine dining. He handed us their iPad based wine list, which was just odd. I suppose it goes along with their poor taste in music. Food was so so, prices were higher than what I'd expect for similar types of places. TL;DR: There are other, better choices for steakhouses.

This was my first time here and I came to celebrate my birthday with my parents. The food, atmosphere, and staff were all fantastic. The steaks were perfectly seasoned and the seared 'crust' on them put the food over the top. I wasnt too crazy about the pork belly appetizer, but that was the only thing not amazing. Ah, the chocolate molten cake is sooo good! Gooey, super rich and tasty. Oh and the bread? It made me eat carbs. If you like prime rib and have a budget, go on Sunday night! For $40 you get a huge prime rib slice, any side dish, a choice of salad, and any dessert. The salad, side, and dessert alone are $34 so it's a great deal. They made my birthday dinner very special. From our very friendly/funny/patient server Garrett to the restaurant manager personally wishing me a happy birthday to their very special birthday treat, I couldn't have chosen a better place to turn 27. I will absolutely be back! !

What a fabulous place . . . and expensive, too! I met business girlfriends for dinner. We uncorked a Greg Norman red (isn't he a golfer? -- I didn't know he did wine, too!) that was quite nice, flavorful and not too dry. Just right! Lovely parmesan-encrusted bread (I'd say sourdough) served with two spreads: one a sun-dried tomato the other a garlic-feta. Divine. This was a nearly three-hour dinner, so you must give-way for the lovely company. But Fleming's did just that, too! They gave-way for our timing. They got the cadence of the meal, and servers and water-refillers were there at just the right times. This is one big room. But we were in a booth, and felt so sequstered and private, we could have voted for our own Pope. Everybody opted for filet mignon of some variation. I got the 11-ounce medium rare. It was beautiful and HUGE ($43), was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Others got the 5-ounce filet ($37), the 8-ounce filet ($39) and one got the special filet that came topped with crab. Sides, interestingly enough, are ordered "family style," so we got roasted-garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus and mushrooms to share. Each of these were around $10. This was some glorious meal. The mashed potatoes were wonderful, the asparagus came with roasted red peppers, and the mushrooms came with roasted garlic. This was beautiful-looking, fabulously prepared and great-tasting food all the way around. Leftovers abounded. But wait, there's more. Dessert. Something I absolutely rarely have in a restaurant. Ordered were: The lava chocloate cake. The cheesecake. The creme brulee. Since I didn't order dessert, the lava chocolate cake shared with me. If you want this, you should order ahead, because it takes 10 minutes. We were gabbing, so the 10 minutes didn't mean anything to us. It was HUGE. Not just this massive chocolately chocolate crunchy-on-the-outside cake oozing runny rivers of chocolate from the inside -- but two scoops of ice cream and two wafer-thin totally crunchy chocolate chip cookies. Holy mackerel!! This was crazy good. I'm voting for THAT Pope! Cheesecake looked like New York Cheesecake -- very firm and rich, served with blueberries. She loved it. Creme brulee was in a lower and more spread-out container than I've usually seen it. I tried it. It was OK. The crack was a little lame. It was served with an accoutrement of raspberries. I got a massive to-go vessel, as all my dining partners are from out of town. And, fabulously, one of my recyclable to-go containers held a whole loaf of that lovely bread. What a generous touch!! Bingo! Score! Thank you, Fleming's, for appreciating our patronage! When we left, two servers were holding open doors for us. And there was an empty car running outside that was better than my car. No, I didn't do it! This was valet service and last night, it could have been useful with the cold and penetrating wind that prevailed.

Three words: chocolate lava cake. Do yourself a favor and stop by the [very expensive] Flemings to get the $13 lava cake. The unbelievably amazing taste/fudginess, the phenomenal service, and the free delicious SOFT bread (and its flavored butter accompaniments) make it totally worth every penny. It comes with homemade whipped cream and homemade ice cream. Yum. And if you love wine, there are hundreds to choose from, ranging in price from $8 to $25+ per glass. Each table gets an iPad that helps you decide which wine you want, based on your mood, the food you order, or the type of taste you want. It's great for special occasions.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 My boyfriend brought me here last night to celebrate my birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Our server (Doug) was on point, sweet and had a great sense of humor. He approached us at the right times and didn't stop by so often where it would interrupt our meal. I love when the sever is just so genuine and real and has pride in the work they do. It definitely shows and makes a customer's night that much better. I wish I had a chance to thank him in person- we were so full and happy from all the food, all we could think about was getting home and throwing on some sweats to let our belly's expand. haha The food: A M A Z I N G! I ordered the dry aged prime rib (although a friend suggested I try out the ribeye) and my bf ordered the dry aged NY strip without the bone. Both were cooked to perfection. The searing on the meat was done just right so that there was a thin seared crust on the outside and the meat in the middle just melted in your mouth. Seasoning was perfect so that it wasn't too salty or bland. The portions were enormous! I have enough steak to last me another 2 meals... We ordered a couple of cocktails and they weren't overpowering or watered down like some other places. This place knows their food and spirits. :] To end the evening, our server surprised me with a signed card from all the staff wishing me a happy birthday along with a $25 gift certificate and a small box of chocolate truffles with a candle for me to blow out. So much attention to detail and the mere fact that it was for me, on my special day, nearly had me in tears. It was a lovely gesture, one that had me smiling all the way home. I've already told several people to check this place out! It's worth every penny- I promise! To the staff, especially our server and chef and manager that night- Thank you for creating such a beautiful evening for us! :]

Happy hour is really happy here. In fact, there was not a bar stool to be had. There was a waiting list for the bar booths, on which we placed our name. They have wine, drink, and food specials for happy hour. A great "grown-up" atmosphere, a gluten-free menu, and wonderful, pleasant service. What more could you ask for during a date night with your spouse?

What an exquisite experience! First, when you come in you are greeted by a lovely and very friendly host who then seats you and when your wait staff comes, he/she greets you by name. It seemed like such a personalized experience and the mood was just right. The meal started with some pan crisped pork belly appetizers which were flavorful and amazing. The night I went, they had a tomato salad caprese style with mozzarella and balsamic vinegar drizzled on top on special. I wanted to try their version since I've been a fan ever since the first time I've had this type of salad so I ordered one and it was great. For the main course, I had the porcini rubbed filet mignon which came with grilled asparagus spears and some gorgonzola cream sauce. Oh my gosh... it was literally melt-in-your-mouth tenderness and the steak had so much flavor. Then last but not least was the dessert, some tahitian vanilla bean creme brulee. One word: YUM! The experience truly was fantastic and I think it's a must-try... at least once. Yes, it is pricey but it is also a great experience which your palate will thank you for!

I'm really surprised at my dining experience last night--i thought for sure I would give this place at least 4 stars. The service and ambiance was amazing---what I expected from a place like Flemings. It definitely looked upscale, but their steaks did not reflect this. I went here for their Easter brunch; their eggs benedict as well as the prime rib we had were great. Their side dishes (vegetables and roasted potatoes) were surprisingly bad-overcooked, limp, and dry. Our dinner last night consisted of crab cakes, main filet and 2 rib eyes, as well as salad and mashed potatoes. The crab cakes were delicious--flaky and I could taste the crab (as opposed to other places where it just tastes like stuffing). Salad and mashed potatoes were tasty. Service was outstanding. Our waiter and the hosts were SUPER attentive. However, the big star of the show--our steaks--I'm not sure what was going on. The filet wasn't that tender or juicy. Our rib eyes were good but nothing amazing, and definitely not worth the $5o price tag. And worst of all, while my brother's ribeye was fine, my ribeye had a tremendous amount of fat. I kept having to cut off pieces of fat throughout my entire ribeye. I've actually had better steaks elsewhere. I'm not saying the steaks were bad, but it just didn't match Fleming's reputation as a high end steakhouse. They treat you like a star and the place definitely looks ritzy. They even gave my brother truffles and a gift card for his birthday. However, when I'm paying $250 for dinner, I just want some damn amazing food, which unfortunately Fleming's did not dish out.

I'm a big fan of sitting at the bar during happy hour at Flemings. The deals are great, the staff is so friendly and the atmosphere is spot on for enjoying a glass of wine and a tasty bite to eat. This past weekend I stopped in for dinner and was equally impressed. Our group of five couldn't have had a better time. We started with a few cocktails and ordered several appetizers to share. I really enjoyed the sweet chile calamari and the burrata plate from the bar menu. For dinner I tried out the seafood special (seafood at a steakhouse? I know!), mahi mahi with sautéed spinach and a pineapple salsa. The mahi was cooked to perfection and the salsa gave the dish a nice summery feel. The rest of the group ordered bone in ribeye with an assortment of sides. Everyone was very pleased with the meal! We ended up staying for another bottle of wine and a little bit of dessert and coffee to finish the night. I think we might have been one of the last tables in the restaurant but the staff was extremely attentive and helpful throughout the entire meal. I'm now not only a fan of stopping by the bar for a quick happy hour but I'd also reccomend a three-hour+ meal in the dining room...granted you have good company to enjoy!

This review is a little delayed but we came her for our anniversay/birthday dinner and it was just as my three stars shows, its just okay. They started us off with our menus, drinks, and this really good bread with two different spreads. I like the white one, dont remember what was in it. We ordered the cajun bbq shrimp appetizer which was good but really, really spicy which my husband loved. I ordered the petite felit and the green beans and some strawberry salad (that was a special of the night )and my husband had the ribeye, a caeser salad, and the Flemings potatoes. The filet was good and cooked right but it tasted like it needed seasonings and the greens beans were not good at all. The hb ribeye was huge and he really liked the flemings potatoes. The salad and dressing was delicous. Since it was our anniversay dinner, they gave us a big chunk of chocolate cake, and I think that was the best chocolate cake I've ever eaten.

I would say this is the place to go if you are on an expense account that nobody is watching. It is a bit too pricey for what you get. But the food you get is delicious and the service is very classy but almost a bit too "rehearsed". I tend to like local places where the wait staff actually has some personality and isn't always addressing you as sir. Overall I would recommend a number of other steak places in St. Louis like Citizen Kane in Kirkwood or Carmines Downtown. This place is too loud. I kept comparing it to an upscale version of The Cheesecake Factory. If you do want to try some things out, go during Happy Hour, the drinks are reasonable and so are some of the appetizers, but beware the place is packed!

Fleming's has taken customer service to new heights - we celebrated our wedding anniversry with Flemings recently, and besides the box of chocolates they also gave us a card signed by the staff! This has to be one of the best places in St. Louis to get a steak, and the "winepad" is the ultimate helper for picking the right wine. I believe that the staff would do almost anything allowed by law to accomodate a guest, and handle it with a smile. We have come to love this place, and it just gets better every time we visit.
